Alabama Football Coach Nick Saban was on hand at Senior Bowl practice Monday. He's probably keeping an eye on his three Tide players practicing for the South.
It's basically a “who's who” of college and pro coaches down in the Port City. So, it's a chance for Saban to catch up with old friends. But, he says the Senior Bowl also serves a big purpose.
“It's always great to be at the Senior Bowl,” Saban said. “I think this is a great event. It's a tradition in Mobile to sort of sponsor this event. I know when I was in the NFL I certainly looked forward to coming here each and every year. It's a first-class event. It's run well. It gives everyone an opportunity to make evaluation of the college football players that are coming out. It's great to have that in the state of Alabama.”
The Senior Bowl kicks off at 3:00 p.m. Saturday at Ladd-Peebles Stadium in Mobile. The NFL Network has the telecast.
