SEC coaches give top honors to Stricklen, Summitt

BIRMINGHAM, Ala. (AP) - Tennessee's Shekinna Stricklen and Pat
Summitt received top honors from Southeastern Conference coaches.

The coaches named Stricklen league player of the year and gave
coach of the year honors to Summitt in balloting released Tuesday
by the SEC.

Kentucky's Victoria Dunlap is the defensive player of the year,
Vanderbilt's Stephanie Holzer is 6th Woman of the Year and
Tennessee's Meighan Simmons was selected as the top freshman.

Mississippi State's Mary Kathryn Govero was named
Scholar-Athlete of the Year.

Stricklen and teammate Glory Johnson were joined on the All-SEC
first-team by Dunlap, Alabama's Tierney Jenkins, Auburn's Alli
Smalley, Georgia's Porsha Phillips, Kentucky's Victoria Dunlap and
Vandy's Jence Rhoads.
