Former Spanish Fort defensive back Johnny Cook found out late Monday afternoon he had been cleared to enroll at the University of Alabama.

Less than two hours later, he and his family were on their way to Tuscaloosa.

"I got class in the morning so I have to get there," Cook said. "It feels really good."

Spanish Fort head coach Mark Freeman told AL.com earlier this summer that Cook, the Class 5A Back of the Year, had to retake a class he took in ninth grade that the NCAA no longer accepts.
