Murphy Geaux's Back To Bama

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Softball coach Patrick Murphy has
returned to the University of Alabama days after accepting the same
job at LSU.

Murphy told LSU officials on Sunday that he had changed his
mind, according to Alabama. Crimson Tide athletic director Mal
Moore accepted his request to return.

Moore says he was pleased with Murphy's change of heart
"because I have always known that he is one of the finest coaches
in America."

Murphy says he realized once he got to Baton Rouge that he had
made a mistake in leaving and says he belongs at Alabama.

Murphy has led Alabama to 712 wins, seven Women's College World
Series and six SEC championships in 12 years at Alabama.

Alyson Habetz, Alabama's associate head coach, also will return
as part of the staff after joining her boss at LSU.
