ATHENS, Ga. (AP) -- Athens-Clarke police issued more than 50
citations, mostly related to alcohol, during revelry associated
with the University of Georgia's first home football game in
The Athens Banner-Herald reports the charges included 18 for underage drinking; 10 for public intoxication; nine for open containers of alcohol; and seven for disorderly conduct.
Among those arrested were a 25-year-old Athens woman charged
with public intoxication after police found her passed out in an
apartment complex parking lot next to a pile of her own vomit.
