Auburn running back Michael Dyer will be at the center of the No. 17 Tigers' offensive attack tonight as they host No. 12-ranked South Carolina.
Arkansas State fans will have to wait awhile before seeing Michael Dyer on the field. Red Wolves Head Coach Gus Malzahn told a Birmingham radio station on Monday, Dyer isn't likely to be granted a waiver by the NCAA, forcing him to sit out the upcoming season.
Dyer transferred from Auburn to Arkansas State, after he was suspended for the Tigers Chick-fil-A Bowl win over Virginia. He followed Malzahn to Arkansas State, who became the Red Wolves Head Coach after Auburn's bowl win.
If Dyer's waiver request is denied, he won't be able to play at ASU until 2013. Whenever he hits the field, Dyer should make an immediate impact in Jonesboro, after rushing for more than one thousand yards in each of his two seasons at Auburn.
