LANSING, Mich. (AP) - The Michigan Senate has approved naming a
stretch of state highway for former Heisman Trophy winner Mark
Ingram.

The measure passed the Senate unanimously Wednesday and next
goes to the Michigan House.

Democratic Sen. John Gleason of Flushing sponsored the bill to
honor Ingram, who went to high school in Michigan and played
collegiately at Alabama. Gleason's bill would name a stretch of
M-21 that runs through the middle of Flint the "Mark V. Ingram II
Freeway."

A previous effort passed the Senate last November but failed to
pass the House.
