LSU could be without one of it's top playmakers for it's season opener against Oregon. ESPN reports Russell Shephard is facing NCAA compliance issues.
The junior wide receiver is facing questions about rent payment arrangements with a woman who he has lived with and who is a student worker in LSU's football office. LSU hopes to have Shephard for the Oregon game on September 3rd.
Shephard was scheduled to appear at SEC Media Days, but was pulled in favor of offensive lineman T-Bob Hebert at the last minute. Head Coach Les Miles declined to comment on Shephard's eligibility in Hoover, but acknowledged his wide receiver had an issue to handle.
Shepard had 33 catches for 254 yards last season, while rushing for 226 yards and two touchdowns. He's scored five touchdowns during his career in Baton Rouge.
