LSU Preparing for Two Games in Six Days

BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) -- Les Miles says his LSU staff has a plan
for the short turnaround between this Saturday's home opener
against Northwestern State and next week's Thursday-night matchup
at Mississippi State.

Miles also says the plan is not something he intends to discuss
this week, not even with his players. The coach says the second-ranked Tigers must focus on how to improve against Northwestern State, and he does not want players reading about how LSU is preparing for what looks like a much tougher road contest against the 16th-ranked Bulldogs.

LSU is ranked second following its season-opening 40-27 victory
over Oregon in Dallas last Saturday night. Miles says he was
pleased with the performance, but stresses that the Tigers must
move on and get better to keep their goals intact.
