AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Auburn's Jeff Grimes has a different approach to coaching offensive linemen.
More professor than screamer, Grimes reads his players daily passages from books on everything from ancient Greece to Navy Seals. These days he could stick to the young adult section.
Grimes turned down a job offer from Texas coach Mack Brown to
return to a position where he'll open the season with four new
starters -- possibly including multiple freshmen. He says that situation led many to believe he'd jump at the opportunity but "there were just too many positives on this side to walk away."
Grimes goes from having the team's most veteran group to one of
its least experienced. He had four seniors and a junior -- tackle
Brandon Mosley -- starting in the national championship game.
