AUBURN, Ala. -- Gabe Wright is elbowing his way into national attention this football preseason.

The Auburn defensive tackle was named to the watch lists Thursday for the Bronco Nagurski Trophy, which goes to the nation's top defensive player; and the Outland Trophy, which goes to the nation's top interior lineman.

Wright has company on the Outland list. Auburn center Reese Dismukes and guard Alex Kozan are also on the Outland watch list. Auburn is one of six schools with a nation's-best three nominees.

Wright had 35 tackles last season, and, significantly, 8½ those were for a loss, including three sacks. Dismukes was in the middle of an Auburn offense that led the nation and set a school record for rushing last season. He's also on the watch list for the Rimington Trophy, which goes to the nation's top center. Kozan joined Dismukes in helping provide the way for one of the top offensive seasons in Auburn history, starting all 14 games at left guard.

Auburn has had two Outland winners: Zeke Smith in 1958 and Tracy Rocker in 1988.

Wright and Dismukes, along with quarterback Nick Marshall, will represent Auburn at SEC Media Days on Monday, the league announced Wednesday.

This week has seen Auburn players win preseason notice. Dismukes was named to the watch list for the Rimington on Tuesday, the same day C.J. Uzomah was named to the watch list for the Mackey Award, which goes to the nation's top tight end.

Marshall and receiver Sammie Coates were named Monday to the watch list for the Maxwell Award, which goes to the nation's top player. Robenson Therezie was named to the watch list Monday for the Chuck Bednarik Award, which goes to the nation's top defensive player.
