TUSCALOOSA, Alabama -- For Alabama fans who already are looking ahead to the 2014 season, one player to keep an eye on this year is Ronald Carswell.
Remember that name? He is a former Alabama wide receiver who is getting ready for preseason camp at West Virginia.
Wouldn't you know? The Crimson Tide will open its 2014 season against the Mountaineers at the Georgia Dome in Atlanta.
Rated a 3-star prospect by Rivals.com and a 4-star prospect by Scout.com, the 6-foot, 180-pound Carswell signed with Alabama in 2010 out of Westside High School in Macon, Ga., but then was grayshirted. It seemed nobody noticed.
Carswell played last season at Itawamba Community College in Fulton, Miss., and caught 44 passes for 429 yards and one touchdown.
