GAINESVILLE, Fla. (AP) -- Florida will open fall practice without quarterback Jeff Driskel, running back Matt Jones and linebacker Antonio Morrison.
Driskel is recovering from an appendectomy, but coach Will Muschamp says he should be back within two weeks.
Jones is dealing with an undisclosed viral infection that has him sidelined indefinitely. Muschamp says Jones, who had been expected to be the centerpiece of the team's offense, complained of pain in his side earlier in the week. Muschamp says he was hoping Jones "ate a bad cheeseburger." Tests, though, revealed an infection. Muschamp says doctors are "pumping him full of antibiotics," but adds there is no timetable for his return.
Morrison remains suspended following his second arrest of the summer. Muschamp says Morrison won't be with the team when it opens practice Friday.
