MONTGOMERY, Ala. (AP) - Alabama has apparently become a
destination state for blue chip recruits.
Both Alabama and Auburn are in the mix to land Top 5 recruiting
classes for the second straight year, and the Crimson Tide could
bring in the No. 1-rated haul on Wednesday.
That's national signing day for prospects across the country.
They've divvied up the national championships and Heisman Trophy
winners for the past two seasons.
Both signed classes ranked in the top 5 last season by most recruiting services.
Both have top targets who could juice their classes even higher in the rankings on signing day.
Auburn and Alabama are among the finalists for the nation's top-rated offensive lineman, Cyrus Kouandjio, out of Maryland.
Both programs must restock after losing a combined five
underclassmen to the NFL draft.
