AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Auburn coach Gene Chizik says freshman quarterback Jonathan Wallace is "in strong consideration" to take the reins of a struggling offense.
Wallace was one of the few bright spots in the Tigers' 63-21 loss to No. 16 Texas A&M on Saturday night. Starter Clint Moseley sustained an ankle injury during the game and former starter Kiehl Frazier was sacked four times.
Wallace passed for 122 yards and two touchdowns and ran 13 times for 71 yards. Chizik said Sunday that the freshman executed at a pretty high level.
Frazier had sat out the previous two games with an arm injury. Chizik says he needs to get an idea of the health of the quarterbacks in Tuesday's practice before making a decision on the starter.
The Tigers didn't practice Sunday.
