AUBURN, Ala. (AP) - Auburn point guard Josh Wallace has received
the Foy Spirit Award.

The $1,000 scholarship is given each year to a student who
exhibits exceptional qualities of leadership, character and a
commitment to the community while maintaining a job to help pay for
an education.

The Foy family funded the scholarship in memory of Dean of
Students James E. Foy and his late wife, Emmalu Foy.

Wallace was a sophomore walk-on who started for the Tigers. He
was named the team's outstanding defensive player and Play-maker
of the Year.

Wallace ranked second in the Southeastern Conference in steals,
third in assist-to-turnover ratio and fourth in assists.

Auburn coach Tony Barbee says Wallace "attacks academics with
the same vigor as he does basketball."
