AUBURN, Ala. (AP) -- Gus Malzahn calls his former players at Arkansas State "a lot of winners.

The Auburn coach is hoping Saturday night's reunion at Jordan-Hare Stadium will prove an exception. Malzahn left the Red Wolves after one season to take over the Tigers program and brought several coaches and most of his support staff with him.

Malzahn says he cares "greatly for a lot of their players." But he says once the game kicks off, it's all about winning.

That won't be easy. Arkansas State has won nine straight games and back to back Sun Belt Conference titles. They've also lost Hugh Freeze to Mississippi and Malzahn to Auburn after one season apiece.

New Arkansas State coach Bryan Harsin, figures it "will be an emotional game" for his team.
