Auburn So. DE Nosa Egua Meets the Media

Defensive Tackle Nosa Eguae
(On defending last year’s title) “You do it one day at a time. You focus on the small things. That’s what the coaches are focusing on.”
(On low preseason rankings) “We’re going back to doing the little things. It goes back to the fact that it’s preseason, and it’s preseason talk. Come Sept. 3, one cares about preseason talk.”
(On losing Quarterback Cam Newton) “You’ll have to talk to Coach Chizik. We just go out and prepare to win another national championship for Auburn University and we don’t worry about anything else.”
(On having a young team) “I think a lot of people in the media, they get misconstrued that being young is a lack of talent, and it’s not at Auburn. We have a lot of talent, and come Sept. 3, we’re looking to show off that talent on a stage.”
(On what winning the national championship meant last year) “When you walk into Wal-Mart, and every day, they’re playing the national championship game, when you have fans walk up to you and start talking about the game, when older people walk up, and they’re 80 years old, and they say how wonderful it was to see another championship, it’s special. I’m looking forward to doing it again for the Auburn family. It’s a special feeling.”
(On the team’s tough schedule) “When you sign up to play in the SEC, you know you’re going to play some tough road games, some tough environments. You look at the schedule, you see the tough road games, and you’re competitive juices start to flow. You see the stadiums and know the crowds you’ll face, and you get excited about it.”
(On the quarterback position) “They’re both great quarterbacks. They have their differences, they both do things really well. I wouldn’t want to see either one of them across the field. They’re both equally able to lead us to victory.”
