Auburn Offensive Coordinator Gus Malzahn has made it clear; he's going to name a starting quarterback in the near future. After that, he doesn't have much to say.
The battle continues between Barrett Trotter, Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier, and the coaching staff won't say if any of those players is pulling ahead in the race to start the opener.
Frazier got all of the snaps in Tuesday's half scrimmage, but don't read too much into that. The scrimmage was for freshmen and newcomers only, giving coaches a chance to see how these players will perform on a big stage.
Auburn has just three weeks to pick a starter, leading up to the team's September 3rd opener at home against Utah State.
