Auburn five-star recruit Kris Frost hopes to make an impact for the Tigers this fall. If he can recover in time, that's still a possibility.

Frost had successful surgery on his shoulder on Tuesday. The Tigers freshman could bounce back and have a chance to play this season.

He injured the shoulder last week during a workout. Frost hoped to crack the Tigers linebacker rotation as a freshman, with the departure of veteran's Josh Bynes and Craig Stevens.

Frost had 178 tackles during his final two seasons at Butler H.S. in Matthews, North Carolina. Even without Frost, the Tigers have depth at linebacker, with Daren Bates, Eltoro Freeman, Jonathan Evans, Jake Holland and Harris Gaston all returning.

He had a total of 178 tackles in his final two high school seasons at Butler High School in Matthews, N.C.
