The Auburn Football Team doesn't release states from it's scrimmages, so we have no idea how the quarterbacks have performed over the past two weeks.
but, we can make an educated guess, after the team named Barrett Trotter as it's starter on Thursday. Scrimmage stats are about all the coaches had to go on as they tried to pick their next signal caller.
Trotter has attempted nine college passes, and that's nine more than Clint Moseley and Kiehl Frazier. So, if you do the math, Trotter's experience, plus his apparent performance in practice so far, was good enough to win him the job.
"We named Barrett (Trotter) the starter because we felt like that gave us the best chance to win," Head Coach Gene Chizik said. "This is a great opportunity for him to write his own story. We feel very confident in his ability to keep our standards extremely high and win."
Trotter hopes to validate his coaches decision by taking control of the team over the next two weeks.
"I'm glad it's all over," Trotter said. "Glad to be named the starter. Glad to finally have it behind me and now I can really get ready for the season."
"My mindset is going to have to change from trying to win the job, to now just really leading this team."
Trotter will take the first snap on September 3rd, when the Tigers host Utah State.
