MOBILE, Alabama -- Dee Ford is off to a heck of a start at the Senior Bowl.

Ford, the senior who finished his time at Auburn with two sacks in the BCS National Championship to bring his total to 10.5 for the season, opened his week on a good note at the weigh-in, checking in at 6-feet, 2 1/2 inches and 243 pounds, the latter a number that earned a fist pump from Ford before leaving the stage.

But Ford didn't get a chance to take center stage until the South's first practice, annually held at Fairhope Municipal Stadium and the first chance for scouts and the assembled NFL personnel evaluators to see them in action.
