The Auburn Football Team is very familiar with it's first opponent of the 2012 season. The Tigers will face Clemson at the Georgia Dome, marking the third straight year the SEC and ACC schools will meet on the gridiron.
This game has been an indicator for both schools in recent years. Auburn overcame a 17-0 deficit to win the 2010 game in overtime, and the Tigers went on to win the BCS National Championship.
Last year, Clemson battled out of a 14-0 hole to win 38-24, sparking a run to the ACC title and the Orange Bowl.
Now, the teams will square off again, and Auburn knows how important it can be to win this game, and start the season off on the right foot.
"The next week we have to play a tough SEC West game, so I think this is going to be a great indicator for us of just where we stand," Auburn Head Coach Gene Chizik said. "Whether that dictates how the rest of your season unfolds or not, you don't know that until December. The last two years, if history has anything to say in it, then it might."
Auburn and Clemson will square off at 6 o'clock on Saturday night on ESPN.
