NEWPORT BEACH, Calif. (AP) -- The Auburn Tigers know there's only one way to top this season.
That would be winning a national championship after Auburn fell just short of completing college football's biggest turnaround.
The Tigers lost 34-31 to heavily favored Florida State and were left contemplating next season's mission. Tailback Tre Mason says the goal will be to "finish this thing off right."
It's unclear if the Heisman Trophy finalist will be around to help bring that to fruition.
Mason and left tackle Greg Robinson are considering skipping their senior years to enter the NFL draft.
With quarterback Nick Marshall leading the way, Auburn could be a Southeastern Conference and national title contender again.
Coach Gus Malzahn says the Tigers' "goal is to get back here, and I really believe we'll do it."
