Alabama will face Maryland in the first round of the Puerto Rico Tip-Off Classic this fall.
The Crimson Tide and Terrapins will meet in the third of four games on Thursday, Nov. 17 at the Coliseo De Puerto Rico in San Juan. The game time is 4 p.m. CST. The game will be televised nationally by ESPN2.
Other first-round games will be Temple vs. Western Michigan (9:30 a.m. CST, ESPNU), Purdue vs. Iona (noon CST, ESPNU) and Wichita State vs. Colorado (6:30 p.m., ESPNU).
Alabama's second game will be against Colorado or Wichita State. The Crimson Tide defeated Colorado in March in the NIT semifinals, then lost two days later to Wichita State in the championship game at Madison Square Garden in New York.
If the Tide defeats Maryland, it will play at 8 p.m. CST on Nov. 18. If the Tide loses to Maryland, it will play at 5:30 p.m. CST on Nov. 18. The tournament ends with games on Nov. 20, with the championship game scheduled for 7 p.m. CST (ESPN2).
Alabama and Maryland have met three times, but this will be the first game between the two teams since the 1985-86 season.
