TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama has hired Mike Groh as wide
receivers coach and recruiting coordinator.

Coach Nick Saban said Monday the former Virginia quarterback and
assistant coach will replace Curt Cignetti, now head coach at
Indiana University of Pennsylvania.

Groh worked with Louisville's quarterbacks last season. He spent
2009 as an offensive graduate assistant at Alabama during the
Crimson Tide's national championship season.

Saban says he's a very good recruiter who "knows the game and
what we want to do in terms of philosophy and terminology from an
offensive standpoint."

Groh spent eight seasons as an assistant coach at Virginia,
including the final three years as the offensive coordinator for
the Cavaliers under father Al Groh.

Louisville quarterbacks accounted for 22 touchdown passes last
season after managing just nine in 2009.
