Alabama Women's Basketball Team Adds Two Players

TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Alabama's women's basketball team has
added two transfers from Rutgers.

Crimson Tide coach Wendell Hudson said Thursday that Briana Hutchen and Daisha Simmons have joined the team. Both players were freshmen at Rutgers last season and will have to sit out the upcoming season due to transfer rules.

Hudson says both are quality players that will "help our program get stronger."

Hutchen is a 6-foot-1 forward from Baltimore who played in 28
games and 181 minutes as a freshman. Simmons is a 5-10 guard from Jersey City, N.J.

She played in all but one Rutgers game last season and started four, including both NCAA tournament games. She averaged just over two points and two rebounds per game.
