TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) - Alabama linebacker Alex Watkins has
undergone knee surgery and will miss the rest of spring practice.

Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban said Friday that Watkins hurt his
knee Wednesday and had surgery a day later. Saban says he expects
the senior backup to be fully recovered in time for fall camp.

Watkins had 16 tackles last season, along with 2½ quarterback
sacks.

The Tide is nearly halfway through spring practices and
scrimmages for the first time Saturday at Bryant-Denny Stadium.
