Alabama will hit the road this weekend, visiting Penn State for a huge non-conference showdown. And, the Crimson Tide will head north with one of the nation's premier defenses in tow.
The Tide "D" shut down Kent State in the opener last Saturday, holding the Golden Flashes to 90 total yards, including -9 yards rushing. And, Tide players are looking for a similar effort against the Nittany Lions this weekend.
"We had a great chance of showing what we were going to do this year last week," sophomore linebacker C.J. Mosley said. "Now, we're going to have our true first test going into Penn State. Loud stadium, high expectations for both teams, so this is a great chance for the defense to show what we're made of."
While the defense played well. the team believes it has plenty of room to improve.
"We only had one turnover, and I think our turnover area is where we need to work on and focus on for this game," junior safety Robert Lester said. "If you cause a turnover, it can change the whole game around."
Alabama will visit Penn State at 2:30 on Saturday on ABC.
