Alabama Baseball Team Preparing for Mississippi State

The Alabama Baseball Team will return home this weekend, hosting rival Mississippi State for a three-game series. The Crimson Tide is in dire need of wins, currently sitting in last place in the SEC standings.

Only the top 10 teams will make the conference tournament. So, the Tide knows they must come to play against the Bulldogs this weekend in order to keep their post-season hopes alive.

"It always starts on the mound, and we need to get three good starts, and then it goes to the back end of the game, and we need to be able to finish," Alabama Head Coach Mitch Gaspard said. "Offensively, I thought we were pretty good, certainly in the second game last week, and we were competitive in the other couple of games."

Alabama and Mississippi State will open their three-game series Friday night at 6:35 at Sewell-Thomas Stadium.
