TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- Running back Dee Hart is no longer on Alabama's football team.
A statement from the athletic department Monday says Hart hasn't been with the Crimson Tide since the loss to Oklahoma in the Sugar Bowl and hasn't participated in the team's off-season activities.
Police tell The Tuscaloosa News Hart was arrested Sunday and charged with giving false information and possession of marijuana. Police say Hart gave a fake name and was later found to have marijuana when officers responded to a call from a gas station clerk who reported someone using counterfeit money.
Hart was booked into jail Sunday evening and was released just over an hour later on $1,300 bond. It wasn't clear if he had a lawyer.
Hart was a backup who ran for 78 yards last season.
