TUSCALOOSA, Ala. (AP) -- No. 2 Alabama's quarterback battle is going down to the wire.
Crimson Tide coach Nick Saban says Florida State transfer Jacob Coker and Blake Sims are still vying to start Saturday against West Virginia.
Saban also said Monday that no decision has been made on whether both quarterbacks will play. He points out that there's no guarantee when a pitcher starts that he'll go all nine innings.
The big question facing new Bama quarterbacks these days is, can he lead the Tide to another national title? Fullback Jalston Fowler says both Coker and Sims are capable of doing that.
Saban says the two candidates have been "very, very good." He says it's harder for a newcomer like Coker to have confidence when he's still building knowledge in the offense.
