HOOVER, Ala. (AP) - Alabama designated hitter David Kindred is
set to undergo tests after experiencing shortness of breath and
tightness in his chest.
Kindred returned home to Tuscaloosa on Friday from the
Southeastern Conference tournament and will undergo more tests on
Crimson Tide coach Mitch Gaspard said Saturday that Kindred's
ailment "could be fairly serious." He said he'd know more after
the tests are completed but didn't want to elaborate.
Kindred's father, David, said in a statement that the family is
hopeful that he will be able to rejoin the team soon.
The Tide will play LSU in the tournament championship game on
Kindred has hit .314 with 18 RBIs in 34 games this season.
