BATON ROUGE, La. (AP) - Morgan Toles and KeKe Carrier each had
17 points and Auburn upset No. 11 LSU in overtime 64-62 on Sunday.
Auburn (10-6, 1-2) won in SEC play for the first time this
season after capturing the regular-season conference title a year
ago. LSU fell to 13-2 and 2-1 after opening SEC play with a pair of
Auburn trailed 57-50 with just under two minutes left in
regulation, but closed with a 9-2 run to force overtime. Alli
Smalley hit a 3-pointer from in front of her bench with 3.1 seconds
left to tie the score at 59.
LSU had a chance to force a second extra period after Toles
missed a free throw with 11.5 seconds left, but Destini Hughes'
driving layup hit the underside of the rim with just over a second
LaSondra Barrett scored a career-high 27 points and had 10
rebounds to lead LSU.
