LEXINGTON, Ky. (AP) - Kentucky coach Joker Phillips says the
Wildcats aren't panicking after a disheartening loss to Ole Miss,
but that his team's margin for error is shrinking.
Kentucky (3-2, 0-2 Southeastern Conference) have lost two
straight after a 3-0 start. And while the Wildcats know they were
outplayed in a defeat at Florida, they believe they have themselves
to blame for losing to the Rebels.
Kentucky had three turnovers and struggled on special teams,
allowing Ole Miss to build a 22-point lead in the second half.
The mistakes need to be shored up quickly with No. 8 Auburn
(5-0, 2-0) visiting Saturday, the start of a three-game homestand
that will shape Kentucky's season. Phillips said Kentucky can still
get to a major bowl game, but can't afford any more slip-ups.
