Tuscaloosa, AL- The scoreboard at the end of the game didn't do the beginning justice. After a 76 yard opening drive the Florida Gators were perched on the Alabama one yard line.

The play was going to their highly touted freshmen for one of the gators signature plays...the jump pass.

I asked Alabama Sophomore linebacker Nico Johnson, who ended that drive with an interception if he felt that the “Tebow-Esque” Jump pass was coming. "Yeah, a little bit, it happened so slowly, it's like someone picked him up he was in the air forever, I read it and came down with it."
"To get out of there with no points was probably a big momentum changer in the game.” Said head coach Nick Saban.
“It was a big momentum shift in the game"

Johnson’s first quarter interception was just the first of many big plays by the Alabama defense on their way to a 31-6 victory over the Florida Gators Saturday night.
A Gator squad that averaged well over thirty points a game, held out of the end zone for the first time since the last time Urban and the Gators came to T-town.

"All week that's all we talked about, the red Area”Said Defensive end Marcel Dareus “We're not letting anybody get in there we're just going to shut it down...all field goals if they get anywhere near there."

CJ Mosley’s 35 yard interception return alone the Tide D matched the Gator offensive output on the day.

While the offense lacked the gaudy numbers of early in the season they did manage 170 yards on the ground, this with Florida putting so much emphasis on stopping the run.
"It's just so much motivation, knowing that a team will devote so much into trying to stop us” said Heisman Trophy winner Mark Ingram.

“We know what we're doing and we're all on the same page, it's all just motivation."

The Tides next bit of motivation will need to come quick, as they travel to South Carolina to take on the Gamecocks.
