TUSCALOOSA, Ala. - The football team moved outside on Thursday for a two-hour practice in full pads on the Thomas-Drew Practice Fields.
It was the Crimson Tide's fourth practice of the week and the first outside as temperatures reached the upper 60s in Tuscaloosa. Alabama will hold four more practice before breaking for Christmas on the afternoon of Monday, Dec. 23. The entire team will reconvene in New Orleans on Friday, Dec. 27.
The Football Writers Association of America was the last organization recognized by the NCAA as official selectors to announce its All-America team. The FWAA selected LT Cyrus Kouandjio, LB C.J. Mosley and S Ha Ha Clinton-Dix to the first team while AJ McCarron was a second-team pick.
Mosley was a unanimous selection for all five teams (Walter Camp, AP, FWAA, AFCA and Sporting News) while Kouandjio and Clinton-Dix were consensus selections (3 of 5). McCarron was on two of the five first teams, just missing consensus recognition. Mosley is the fourth Alabama player and just the 26th in SEC history to be named two-time consensus All-American.
