HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) -- Points leader Carl Edwards has captured
the pole for the final race in NASCAR's Chase for the Cup.

He has a 3-point lead over two-time series champion Tony Stewart, who qualified 15th for Sunday's Ford 400 at Homestead-Miami Speedway.

Edwards is a two-time winner at Homestead, and is the defending
race winner.

He has six top-10 finishes and an average finish of 5.7 in seven career starts there.

Stewart is trying to become the first owner/driver since Alan
Kulwicki (kul-WIHK'-ee) in 1992 to win the championship.

Edwards and Stewart are the only two with a shot at the season title.


Stenhouse clinches title

HOMESTEAD, Fla. (AP) -- Ricky Stenhouse Jr. won the Nationwide
Series championship long before the checkered flag dropped Saturday at the season finale.

Stenhouse clinched the title 30 laps into the 300-mile race when
six cars officially dropped out at Homestead-Miami Speedway.
