FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Kyle Busch will not be allowed to race
in the Sprint Cup or Nationwide races at Texas after deliberately
wrecking championship contender Ron Hornaday Jr. in Friday night's
Truck Series race.
NASCAR President Mike Helton announced the decision after a
meeting with Busch and his Sprint Cup and Nationwide owner, Joe
Gibbs.
Busch is the first driver since Robby Gordon in August 2007 to
be parked for a Cup race for actions in another NASCAR race the
same weekend.
Michael McDowell will take over for Busch in the Cup race
Sunday, and Denny Hamlin has the Nationwide seat today.
FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Trevor Bayne earned his first career
NASCAR Nationwide victory when he passed dominating teammate Carl Edwards after a tremendous restart with seven laps remaining and held on at Texas Motor Speedway.
Bayne won this year's Daytona 500 but had never won in his
previous 76 Nationwide starts.
