KANSAS CITY (AP) -- A.J. Allmendinger will be on the pole for the second time in his Sprint Cup career after turning the fastest qualifying lap for Sunday's race at Kansas Speedway.
Allmendinger posted a lap of 175.993 mph in his Penske Racing Dodge to claim the top spot ahead of Kevin Harvick and Joey Logano.
