FORT WORTH, Texas (AP) -- Mark Martin will drive part-time for
Michael Waltrip Racing for at least the next two seasons, sharing
the seat with the team owner.
In a deal completed over the past three weeks, Martin will drive 25 NASCAR Sprint Cup races next season and again in 2013 in the No.
00 Toyota. Waltrip will drive five races each season under a sponsorship extension with Aaron's, which also has an option for
2014.
Martin is in the final year of his contract with Hendrick Motorsports, and had be considering options for driving in either the Cup, Nationwide or Camping World Truck Series. He says his schedule with Waltrip is perfect.
The deal was announced Friday, a day after the team said David
Reutimann wasn't going to be back next year.
