CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- One of Kyle Busch's sponsors has asked
for him to be removed from the season-ending Nationwide Series race, The Associated Press has learned.
Multiple people familiar with Busch's schedule told the AP that Z-Line Designs wants to use Denny Hamlin instead of Busch in next weekend's Nationwide race at Homestead. The people spoke on condition of anonymity because Busch's future is still being discussed with sponsors and Joe Gibbs Racing.
Busch was suspended last weekend by NASCAR for intentionally
wrecking Ron Hornaday Jr. under caution at Texas. NASCAR this week
also fined him $50,000 and placed him on probation through the end
of the year. Although NASCAR says Busch can race again this weekend, Joe Gibbs Racing has not given any indication if Busch will be in Sunday's race at Phoenix.
