Kevin Harvick Gets New Crew Chief

CHARLOTTE, N.C. (AP) -- Kevin Harvick will have a new crew chief next season after falling short in his bid to win the Sprint Cup title for a second consecutive year.

Richard Childress Racing says Shane Wilson will be crew chief on the No. 29 Chevrolet next season. He'll replace Gil Martin, who moves to director of team operations.

Wilson had been crew chief the last three seasons for Clint Bowyer. That team is going away as Bowyer moves to Michael Waltrip Racing. Wilson and Harvick teamed together in 2006 to win the Nationwide Series title. Together they won 10 races, had 24 top-five finishes and set a record by winning the title by 824 points.

Harvick went into the Chase this season tied for the top seed, but finished third in the final standings.
