Daytona, FL- "Leading is not the position you want to be in to win the 500," Jimmie Johnson said.

Kind of ironic for the man who has led NASCAR in each of the past 5 seasons. But while bump-drafting pulls a lead car back to the pack in most cases, no one has been able to bump Jimmie Johnson out of the top spot.

The number 48 team will begin Sunday's race with sights set on an exciting season and unprecedented 6th straight NASCAR championship.

Johnson said, "It's about learning and growing and how I can be better than the others and how our team can do a good job."

Dale Earnhardt Senior won 5 titles but took 20 years to win the Daytona 500. Jimmie J already has that on the resume.

"When I won mine it was a relief like wow it took Dale 20 years so I guess looking back I see how it can be a tough question to deal with"

When it comes to NASCAR, there are a ton of fans, a ton of drivers, but for the past 5 seasons, only one championship team.
