Chipper Jones will be back -- at Turner Field, and on television -- for one more appearance later tonight.

Starting at 5:30 p.m., Fox Sports South will air coverage of the Atlanta Braves third baseman's retirement ceremony. Jones' number, 10, will be retired.

When he was just 18, Jones was drafted by the Braves with the first pick of the 1990 amateur draft. He made his major league debut on Sept. 11, 1993, at age 23, and played his final game on Oct. 3, 2012, at age 40. Jones was a member of the Braves organization for the entirety of his professional baseball career.

Jones will be remembered as one of the greatest switch-hitters of all time. He batted .303 for his career, drew 1,512 walks, and had more than 1,000 extra-base hits. Jones made more than 10,614 plate appearances over the course of his career. He, Lance Berkman, and Mickey Mantle are widely thought to represent the three best switch-hitters in baseball.
