The Auburn basketball team will open up the 2013-14 season on Friday, Nov. 8 against Nichols State as Auburn fourth-year head coach Tony Barbee announced the complete 2013-14 schedule on Friday.
"I'm excited about the upcoming season," Barbee said. "Our guys have worked hard this summer at getting better and we have a lot of new players that are up to the challenge of improving our team. The SEC will be tough as always."
Following the opener Auburn will play host to Northwestern State on Friday, Nov. 15 at 7 p.m. and Jacksonville State on Tuesday, Nov. 19, also at 7 p.m.
Auburn will face Murray State at home on Saturday, Nov. 23, at 7 p.m. in a rematch from last season. The following Tuesday (Nov. 26) Auburn will play host to Tennessee State at 7 p.m. as it finishes up a string of five straight home games to open up the season.
Auburn opens the month of December with its first road game of the season, playing at Iowa State at 6 p.m. on Monday, Dec. 2 on ESPNU as part of the SEC/Big XII Challenge. Auburn closes out that week against Illinois at Philips Arena in Atlanta at 2p.m. on Sunday, Dec. 8 in a game that will be televised by FSN. Both Iowa State and Illinois played in the NCAA Tournament last season.
