MONTGOMERY, Alabama --- A federal judge has delayed the trial of former Auburn basketball player Varez Ward, accused of taking part in a point-shaving scheme, until Nov. 4.
Chief U.S. District Judge W. Keith Watkins of the Middle District of Alabama Northern Division granted the delay in the trial, which had been scheduled for July 22. Everett Wess, Ward’s attorney, had asked for the continuance on June 20.
