(DOTHAN)--The Wicksburg varsity softball team gathered in the library for the big event. Ginny Woodham tweeted:

"Today is one of the most important days of my life #excited #nervous #aaah"

Woodham's tweet referred to signing her letter of intent to play at St. Petersburg College.

Woodham plans to pitch for the Titans and head coach Breanna Myers.

"I"m really excited, I can't wait to get down there," said Woodham.

"I love the school, everything about it, I love the coaches, and the girls. I"m just really excited," she said.

Her soon-to-be head coach Breanna Myers said this about Woodham via text:

"We look forward to having a versatile pitcher who is extremely athletic and will contribute offensively. Ginny has good spin and more importantly is a positive, mature young lady."

Woodham plans to room with former Headland standout catcher at St. Petersburg, Brianna Skipper.

Last season Woodham started 11 games and threw 136 strikeouts over 79 innings of work.

At the plate Woodham recorded a .516 batting average with 37 hits and two home runs.
