TROY, Ala. – After opening Sun Belt play on the road Thursday night, the Troy women’s basketball team returns home to continue league play as WKU visits Trojan Arena.
Tip-off is set for 5:15 p.m. The game will be televised by WKU’s Hilltopper Sports Satellite Network and will also air on ESPN3. Live stats and live video will be available through TroyTrojans.com. Troy’s radio broadcast will air on WTBF 94.7 FM and on WTBF.com.
The Trojans (1-4, 0-1) played their earliest conference opener in school history on Thursday, falling at defending Sun Belt Champion UALR, 75-52. Joanna Harden led the Trojans with 14 points.
Despite the season-low offensive output, the Trojans still average 81.4 points per game, the best mark in the Sun Belt.
Troy is playing in Trojan Arena for the first time since knocking off Furman 118-96 nearly two weeks ago, still the most points scored by a women’s basketball this season in the country.
Troy’s offense has been a balanced effort with five players averaging double-figure scoring, the only team in the Sun Belt that can say that.
WKU (4-1, 2-0) comes in after a win on the road at ULM Thursday night, 65-57. Alexis Govan leads the Lady Toppers in scoring at 18.4 points per game. Chastity Gooch leads the Sun Belt in rebounding at 11.0 rebounds per game and has posted a double-double in every game this season.
