Sun Belt Conference football fans in the state of Alabama should be happy this season. The state's two Sun Belt football-playing teams - Troy and South Alabama - have schedules that will allow fans who may be so inclined to catch most of the games by both teams this season.
That includes the opening week of play when South Alabama opens on Thurs., Aug. 29 at home against Southern Utah and Troy opens at home against in-state foe UAB on Sat., Aug. 31.
The remainder of South Alabama's games are all set on Saturday's but Troy has three Thursday night games and a Friday game as the season continues. Also, when the Jaguars have an off week, Troy has a game scheduled, and vice versa.
The teams play each other in Troy on Sat., Oct. 5, only the second time the teams have played against each other in football. The Trojans won last year's first meeting in Mobile.
